Auch wenn viele Anhänger von (sakraler) Chormusik den Namen des Londoner Komponisten hierzulande nicht kennen – Musik von ihm dürften die meisten, möglicherweise unbewusst, schon gehört haben. Wer die verschiedenen Feierlichkeiten des britischen Königshauses in der Londoner Westminster Abbey in den vergangenen Jahren via Fernsehübertragungen miterlebt hat, der hat sehr wohl seine Chor-Kompositionen genießen dürfen. Sir Dr. John Milford Rutter CBE (Commander of the British Empire) gehört nicht grundlos zu den bevorzugten Komponisten der britischen Monarchie.
